Synthesis of unnatural amino acid bearing gamma butyrolactone moeity
The synthesis started from benzene, then reduction reaction to diene, followed by catalytic epoxide ring opening, Nboc protection and lactonisation to produce butyrolactone acid. From this, several butyrolactone or butenolide peptides have been synthesized. Interestingly some of these compounds showed promising bioactivity towards Tuberculosis cell lines.
Synthesis of Biopolymer Methoxypolyethyleglycol-Betulinic acid
Biopolymer consisting of betulinic acid scaffold was synthesized through Matsunobu reaction of Mpeg-OH followed by peptide coupling reaction.
