Our group has research interests in chemistry to build nanoscale materials with applications to fundamentally interesting, yet critical problems, including: solar energy transduction, photocatalysis, molecular electronics, chemical sensing and proton coupled electron transfer. Such constructs resemble components of natural biological systems that carry out the same energy related processes. Thus, biology can provide inspiration and fundamental design parameters for building new technologies. Conversely, artificial systems offer opportunities to better understand the detailed mechanisms of their biological counterparts
