Expertise: Dr. Ali's research interests are in the field of bioanalytical chemistry and include developing detection strategies using electrochemical or optical signaling outputs. Specifically, she is interested in aptamer based sensor scaffolds for the direct and indirect detection of miRNAs, SNP's and protein biomarkers as well as relevant small-molecule targets. Her work aims to further the understanding of molecular level interactions between nucleic acid probes and their selected targets and will aid in the detection efficiency of clinical and environmental targets.
