I AM SEEKING ONE IMMUNOLOGIST POSTDOC. I am looking for a highly motivated immunologist to develop various vaccine strategies to modulate immune responses and treat both infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases. Successful post doc candidates must hold or have a closely pending doctoral-level degree in biology, biochemistry, or similar equivalent field with a focus on cellular immunology. Additionally, post doc candidates should have at least one first author publications in English language peer reviewed journals. Publications in press or preparation are acceptable.

It is desired that candidates have all of the following biological skills: mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISAs, mouse work, isolation of murine BMDCs, BMDC/T cell co-cultures, ELISPOT, and/or NO/BCA/MTT type cell assays. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has extensive expertise in applied immunology with a focus on Type 1 Diabetes or EAE/Multiple sclerosis.

The Ainslie lab is located at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy in the newly finished Marsico Hall. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is #1 in the country. This position will be part of a NIH funded project. As a post doc in the Ainslie lab you would be working closely with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientist and will be expected to be active in every level of the research from disease induction, and vaccination as well as learning polymer development to aid in the vaccination optimization. This position is a temporary position for 2-3 years. This is an entry level post doc position and I am not seeking individuals interested in starting the position as a research associate/technician or assistant research professor.
