Join Our Team at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow to contribute to an RNA biology and epigenetics project in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Li Yinghui at SBS. The role will focus on characterizing the interactions of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) with RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) and the epigenetic functions of these ribonucleoprotein complexes using cancer cell lines and in vivo tumor models. The work will also include the development of RNA-based therapeutics and evaluation of their efficacy using preclinical mouse models.
Key Responsibilities:
· Designing and executing experiments and analyses independently to characterize lncRNA-RBP interactions and epigenetic functions linked to cancer progression. Key techniques include RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP), RNA pull-down assay, RNA-FISH, RACE, molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, CRISPR-mediated gene editing, CLIP-seq and ChIP/ChIP-seq.
· Organizing and documenting experimental procedures, reagents and data in a laboratory logbook.
· Preparing manuscripts and assist in writing grant proposals.
· Present research at lab meetings and local/international conferences.
· Mentor and train junior staff and students (undergraduate interns and postgraduate students) contributing to the research progress and productivity of the lab.
· Collaborative teamwork is essential.
Job Requirements:
· PhD in Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines (Senior Research Fellow applicants should have at least 4 years of relevant postdoctoral experience).
· Proficiency in the following areas: Mammalian cell culture, lentivirus production and transduction, standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques, RNA biology, tumor xenograft mouse models.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong publication record, especially at least a first author paper in the relevant areas.
· Entry level candidates with relevant experience are welcome to apply.
The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
