Dr. López Moreno research is oriented to phytoremediation of soils and waste waters using several plant species capable to accumulate different heavy metals in their tissues. Dr. López research group study the ability of plants to uptake, transport, and storage heavy metals,to give an insight about binding mechanisms involved in the uptake and transformation of heavy metals, and to evaluate the potential toxic effects of these metals inside living plants. In addition, Dr López is also interested to study the interaction, transformation, and toxicity of some nanomaterials to some edible, desert, and tropical plants. Dr. López is interested in developing and improving economic and environmental effective methods for removing heavy metals and nanomaterials from wastewaters and soils. Dr López research involves application of different analytical techniques to the analysis of environmental samples.
