  • I`m active in the field of nano-optics. The underpinning technology used during my research has primarily been scanning probe microscopy as it allows a fundamental and detailed understanding of local physical properties to be obtained without being limited by the wavelength of light. As such I developed an expertise in Scanning Tunneling Microscopy(STM) under ultrahigh vacuum conditions, Near field Scanning Optical microscopy under ambient conditions (both collection and excitation mode), single molecule detection, electromagnetism of emitters in layered media, 2D photonic crystals, theoretical modelling of pulse propagation, nano-technology as well as in the use of ultrafast lasers.
