Expertise: The major focus of our research is to elucidate the molecular biology of divalent cation (Mg2+, Co2+, Zn2+, Ca2+, etc) transporters. These families of transporters are integral membrane proteins involved in cellular activities (e.g. cell signalling and homeostasis) where impairments lead to pathological conditions such as cell death and immunodeficiency, leading to various diseases such as cancer
