My research largely focuses on the effects of human-induced stress on aquatic organisms and systems. I have recently been involved with a number of studies that evaluate the condition of wetlands using both on-site and GIS-based assessments of habitat quality. Additionally, I am interested in the response of benthic invertebrate communities to perturbation and in the energetic costs of tolerating stress at the level of the individual organism.
