The Department offers a stimulating and collaborative environment, with a strong graduate program, access to core facilities including excellent animal facilities, laboratory space in a modern research complex, and shared, state-of-the-art equipment. Department research funding is ranked in the top 20, nationally. The University of Kentucky houses an NCI-designated Cancer Center, a federally-supported Alzheimer’s Disease Center, and a Clinical and Translational Science Award. In addition, the College of Medicine and the University are undergoing a significant transformation of biomedical research, with major increases in NIH funding, and additions to research service cores and laboratory space.
