Overview
The Monaco lab is exploring evolutionary conservation of noncoding gene RN7SL and its ability to splice between different copies on the same transcript to form large ‘Jumbo’ circRNAs encompassing protein coding genes involved in cellular stress, growth and development.
What You'll Do
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include performing assays, tissue culture, RNA isolation, electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques. May also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
Essential Functions:
• Conducts routine experiments following appropriate protocols and procedures to achieve results
• Performs techniques such as tissue culture, RNA isolation, PCR, immunohistochemistry, electrophoresis, protein purification and others
• Records results and maintains accurate records of experiments
• Performs limited data interpretation and assists with basic statistics and analysis
• Maintains laboratory equipment and orders/keeps inventory of supplies
• Prepares stock solutions, reagents and other media
• Monitors animal colonies and performs husbandry, collects samples and maintains census records
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirement:
• The following required knowledge and skills as typically acquired by completing a Bachelor’s degree in science with up to one year laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
Pay Range
Minimum $19.80, Midpoint $23.55, Maximum $27.30
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
