Aalto University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral researcher in molecular machine learning. The successful applicant will join the research group of Professor Juho Rousu. The position allows the successful applicant to choose a flexible balance between advanced machine learning method development and exciting applications on molecular data, including biomedicine and drug discovery. The position gives excellent opportunities in publishing in high-quality forums.
We expect the applicants to have a PhD degree (or close to completing one) in computer science, mathematics or statistics, with an excellent publication record. Solid research experience in one or more of the following topics is expected:
- Graph neural networks
- Optimization algorithms
- Predicting structured output
- Self-supervised learning
- Computational metabolomics
- Computational biomedicine
- Computational drug discovery
Excellent technical and communications skills are required.

What we offer
The expected starting salary for a postdoctoral researcher is 4100-4400 € depending on experience. The position is initially for two years with a possibility of extension. The contract includes occupational health care, and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.
