This is a full time research technician position in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Science at SUNY, University at Buffalo. The research focus of the lab is the study of retrovirus infections using in vivo and in vitro models. The candidate will provide technical assistance to postdocs/graduate students and other research staff within the group. The candidate will assist in the execution of small animal (mouse) handling and surgeries and participate in executing experiments involving cellular and molecular biology assays. He/She will be involved in the management and care of the animal colony. Other duties involve the maintenance of lab equipment, preparing stock solutions and placing various orders based on lab needs.
0-1 year experience working in a lab in a biological field. Candidate must be reliable, responsible and comfortable with cell and animal based research methods. Previous experience in biomedical research is strongly preferred. Good organization, communication skills and ability to work with others are essential. Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint is required.
BS in a biological field and 0-1 year experience working in a lab.
