A postdoctoral position is available at Louisiana State University. Experience in animal husbandry, knockout and transgenic mouse models, viral infections, flow cytometry, immunology, advanced tissue culture techniques including viral production and T cell activation assays, mRNA purification and expression studies, and/or neonatal respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection models is recommended. The applicant will be conducting research on pathogenesis of RSV and the role of pulmonary IL33 in promoting Th2-biased immunopathogenesis.
70% Perform general laboratory procedures including animal husbandry, genotyping, RNA/protein expression analysis, inhalation exposures, flow cytometry, and evaluation of pulmonary immune responses. Maintain laboratory exposure equipment.
20% Advanced tissue culture techniques including viral production and T cell activation assays; Prepare/analyze data and draft manuscripts for publication of data; Assist in preparing grants and administering budgets
10% Organize and quality-control data; Instruct undergraduate and graduate assistants in the laboratory.
Ph.D. in a Biological Sciences, or related field; experience in virology, immunology, flow cytometry, qPCR
