The NTU School of Biological Sciences (SBS) explores new knowledge and discoveries in molecular biology that will have major impact on the life sciences, widely acknowledged as the next technological revolution after the internet. SBS is a research-intensive unit that strives for the highest excellence in outputs.
An opening for a Project Officer (PO) position is available in July 2024 in the laboratory of Associate Professor Xavier Roca (SBS NTU), to research in the alternative splicing regulation and cellular functions of human antiviral genes.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, execute and interpret experiments together with the Principal Investigator and other lab members.

Contribute to running the lab by taking care of housekeeping chores like reagent ordering, maintenance of lab stocks (plates, media, etc), and others.

Help in the training and mentoring of undergrad interns and/or PhD students, thereby contributing to the scientific nurture and productivity of the whole lab.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related degree.

Highly motivated, and with internship experience in some or most of these categories: (1) cell culture, (2) standard molecular biology, (3) RNA biology, (4) immunology, (5) splicing. The minimal requirement for the candidate is one of these skills, yet having more of these skills is preferred.
