Position overview Position title: Lecturer Salary range: The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. A reasonable estimate for this position is $64,329-$97,469.
Percent time: Part-time, varies by assignment.
Anticipated start: Positions typically start at the beginning of August (Fall semester) or January (Spring semester), or mid-June (Summer Sessions).
Position duration: Fall, Spring, Summer. Semester or academic year. The number of available positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.

Position description
The Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified, temporary, non-tenure track lecturers to teach a range of physics courses. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available.
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small, medium, and large size undergraduate lower and/or upper-division lecture, seminar and/or laboratory courses in Physics. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include:
- Holding office hours;
- Assigning grades;
- Advising and communicating with students;
- Preparing course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and exams - Using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website; and,
- Managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) A Master's degree (or international equivalent degree) or be enrolled in a Master's degree program at the time of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start) A Master's degree (or international equivalent degree) by the start of the appointment.
Preferred qualifications A Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree), and/or prior college-level teaching experience.
