    Job Description

    The College of Science (COS) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites highly qualified individuals at the Assistant/Associate Professor to apply for a faculty position in Geophysics (Seismic Methods). The department of geosciences seeks candidates who can contribute to its growing undergraduate and graduate programs in Geosciences through excellence in teaching and research. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching in excellence and student advising at undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.


    Minimum Qualification

    Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geophysics/Earth Sciences and demonstrated record of research accomplishments in geophysics and related research fields, experience in securing research grants, effective and innovative teaching. Practical and industrial experience is a plus.


    Preferred Qualification

    Qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in Geophysics/Earth Sciences, demonstrated record of research accomplishments in geophysics, seismic exploration and application of seismic data to geological problems. Experience in programing and application of digital analysis and artificial intelligence is recommended. Experience in writing and securing grants, and effective and innovative teaching is vital for the position. The candidate is expected to teach courses in geophysics including, general geophysics, seismic stratigraphy, seiemology, petrophysics/well-logging, petroleum geosciences along with general geology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Practical and industrial experience is a plus. Faculty rank is commensurate with the qualifications and experience.
