  • STEP Bridge Physics Instructor

    Job Description


    Bridge is a six-weeks challenging summer program which helps the pre-freshmen participants begin their transition to Stevens; it introduces them to the academic realities of the Stevens undergraduate experience and helps them to begin developing academic, social, and other support networks.


     


    A successful candidate will be required to develop a syllabus in the relevant subject area, which prepares the students for the respective Fall curriculum, and includes in-person lectures, homework assignments, regularly administered assessments (e.g., tests/quizzes/examinations, etc.) and when possible, a special research or project. They will be assigned at least two undergraduates who will be their in-class assistants, liaisons, and tutors.


     


    The required textbook and other academic support material for the course will be identified by the corresponding academic department and provided by STEP.


     


    QUALIFICATIONS


    · Graduate degree in related field required (PhD in progress preferred).


    · Prior teaching experience at Stevens, and familiarity with Stevens’ Undergraduate curriculum


    · Strong verbal communication skills required
