The incumbent monitors progress of research projects and coordinates information between department sections. He/she assists with and conducts laboratory experiments on research projects within well-defined guidelines.

 Essential Job Functions

• Plans schedule according to variety of methods to be used, and availability and quantity of resources.


• Conducts research, utilizing institution library, archives and collections, and other sources of information to collect, record, analyze and evaluate facts.


• Discusses findings with appropriate personnel to evaluate validity of findings.


• Prepares reports of completed projects.


• Operates laboratory equipment, contributes to laboratory maintenance.


• Performs a variety of assays, tests, and studies of a routine nature.


• Performs calculations to complete research test results; collates data; performs statistical analysis of lab results and maintains notes and log or computer database; performs basic procedures for computer assisted data analysis.


• Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science field
