    The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.


    We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join the laboratory of Professor Yonggui Gao. The research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of polysaccharide biosynthesis and regulation, using a combination of microbiological and genetic engineering approaches, along with protein structural and functional methodologies.


    Key Responsibilities:




    • Investigate the molecular mechanisms of polysaccharide biosynthesis and regulation.




    • Utilize combinative approaches, including microbiology, genetic engineering, and protein structural analysis.




    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team with expertise in protein structure, chemistry, biochemistry, and microbiology.




    • Perform any other duties as assigned.




    Job Requirements:




    • PhD or relevant research experience in microbiology or a related field.




    • Experience in genetic engineering techniques such as gene knock-out and/or knock-in.




    • Strong motivation and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
