    The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.


     


    SPMS is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.


     


    Key Responsibilities:




    • To conduct high quality research in coding theory.




    • To assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with the writing of research papers.




    • To assist the PI with the writing of research grant reports.




    • To assist the PI in the supervision and mentoring of a small research team comprising post-graduate students and undergraduate students.




     


    Job Requirements:




    • Candidate must possess at least a PhD Degree in mathematics or computer science with strong publication track records. PhD candidates who are about to submit their thesis for examination or have submitted their thesis for defence are also welcome to apply.




    • Proficiency in programming would be preferred.




    • Post-doctoral research experience in related areas would be an advantage.




    • Knowledge and research experience in algebraic coding theory and quantum error-correction would be essential.
