    IDMxS is currently offering fully funded PhD scholarships to outstanding students for study at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. We are inviting students with a strong, diverse background in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to apply for our PhD Interdisciplinary Graduate programme (IGP) in digital molecular analytics.


    Background


    IDMxS is a newly established multidisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence located in NTU, Singapore. We are aiming to interface the biological world with information technology and data sciences by developing integrated systems that can monitor disease threats, population health (health promotion, preventative healthcare, early diagnosis and intervention), food safety, the environment, and potential security threats.


    In addition, we have a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with state-of-the-art equipment and revolutionary infrastructure, and are well positioned to grow as a global leader, recruiting and developing talents at all levels.


    IGP-IDMxS Phd Programme


    The IGP-IDMxS is a fully funded 4-year Ph.D. programme in IDMxS@NTU that seeks to nurture outstanding students with a passion for interdisciplinary research across areas in Molecular Analytics, Sensor Technology, Data Science and Interfacial Chemistry. Our research focuses on:



    • Modular detection innovations that enable biomolecular recognitions to be integrated with portable devices;

    • Developing new methods and devices to convert optically detectable chemical changes into digital signals;

    • Innovations in data analysis strategies to enhance information extraction allowing high levels of accuracy in detection outcomes;

    • Developing biomedical application prototypes to lead the way for digital molecular analysis in next-level generation diagnostics.


    The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our dedicated researchers at IDMxS, faculty from colleges and institutes across NTU, and other collaborators from universities such as NUS. They will also receive specialized training in interdisciplinary and collaborative sciences.
