My main research areas are magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and magnetic reconnection. MHD is the study of the motion of electrically conducting fluids in electromagnetic fields. Research in the area of MHD equilibria is done in collaboration with Prof. Thomas Neukirch (School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of St Andrews, UK). Magnetic Reconnection on the other hand is a fundamental process of structure formation in plasmas. This process can be modeled mathematically using MHD. The work in this area is carried out in collaboration with Dr. Gunnar Hornig (Department of Mathematics, University of Dundee, UK).
Currently, I'm also collaborating with Dr. Mohammad M. Rahman (DOMAS, SQU) in the areas of heat transfer and nanofluids and with Dr. Messaoud Boulbrachene (DOMAS, SQU) in the area of numerical analysis.
