Speciation analysis of metals and metalloids (As, Se, Pb, Cd, Cr) to characterize the most important forms of an element in order to understand the transformation between species which can occur and infer from the information (total elemental concentration against species concentration) the likely consequences in terms of risk assessment and other concerns.
· Speciation science by using element-selective instrumentation such as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to get the species information in various matrices (biological and environmental samples).
